Diamond Jubilee Hallmark - 2012

Post by dognose »

As from the 1st July 2011, a new optional British hallmark will be available to be struck on gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

The new mark will be a special commemorative hallmark to denote the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The mark depicts a young Queen Elizabeth wearing an oversized crown, the image set in a diamond shaped surround.

This optional mark will be available as from the 1st July 2011 until the 1st October 2012, and thus will be found accompanying the date letters 'm' for 2011 and 'n' for 2012. It will be struck by all four assay offices.
