Question about Hallmark and number
This box was given to my grandmother. I believe the first stamp is the lion and the second the anchor, meaning it was made in Birmingham. Does anyone have a guess on the letter? I think it might be a G or a C 1826 or 1830? Also there is not a shield or some indentation around the anchor and lion as shown on the website. What does that mean? Also I was wondering if the 2 dots indented below the hallmarks and the number 280 meant anything. Was it a lot number from the manufacturer?
