OESTERREICHER
Wien
The Ostiers — award-winning designer Marianne and her husband, Oliver, former court jeweler of Austria—opened their new New York salon at 5 E. 57th St., Sept. 26, with a preview for the press of the Ostiers’ 1962 jewelry collection. Nathan Holz, vice-president in charge of production, last month observed the 25th anniversary of his association with Ostier, Inc. During World War II, Holz took a “leave of absence” from the firm to devote his skills to precision work in a defense plant.

Hello, two hands with a silversmith`s hammer: joint workshop of Johann Babirad (actie since 1901) and Josef Zemen (active since 1903). Not sure when the two joined forces. Active as Babirad and Zemen at least until 1932. They also retailed many patterns made by one of the major silver flatware makers of the Austro-Hungarian empire, so there is always the possibility that a pattern with their mark was actually made by someone else.
