M. Friedman and William Duschies, comprising the concern of M. Friedman & Co., manufacturers of canes and umbrella handles, at 468 W. Broadway, made an assignment last week for the benefit of creditors, to Irving L. Ernst. Friedman & Co. were among the pioneers in this line of business, having started about 32 years ago. Liabilities are placed at about $12,000, with nominal assets of about the same, and actual assets of about $5,000. Judge Holt has appointed Ralph Wolf receiver under a bond of $2,500.
