Help with Hallmark Identification

Post by jsphoto »

Hi All,

I have searched this site, and looked at books at the library, and am having trouble identifying the hallmarks on this silver jewel casket. I think it could be German, and imported into England in 1902, does anyone know what each hallmark indicates.
Many thanks in advance,
Dave

The first set are indeed English import marks. Elly Isaac Miller (E I M) London 1902.
The second set looks partly as fals hallmarks and only the TG mark is probably the mark of the silversmith.
My guess is that is was made around 1900-1902 in Hanau, Germany.
May be it would be better to move it to the German hallmarks page.

Hello, looks indeed like a piece of Hanau silver. The maker TG (or GT) is not identified, though. Best wishes, Bahner
