This silverplated piece was made by the Sheets-Rockford Silver Plate Company (1925-1956).
The base is 5.5 inches ( 14.0 cm.) in diameter. It is 3.25 inches ( 8.25 cm.) high.
The top part revolves.
What was this used for ?

Dear Pat,
I saw your Aug 29, 08 forum on the grapefruit holder. (What is CXVII) I would like to know where to purchase them. I have 3 that I inherited and would like to buy more. I didn't know if the forum would allow me to ask this question as I have just joined.

Hi Nikki.
I have two, one of which is pictured here.
Sorry, mine are not for sale. Sentimental reasons.
Wish I could tell you where to look, but this is a difficult item to find.
I'm guessing they didn't make too many of them.
To make searching even harder, not many auctions identiy them correctly.
Generally they are listed as candle holders.
