A listing of silversmiths and allied trades taken from list of European inhabitants living in India in 1818.

The above contains some good information, including the confirmed dates of arrival of some.
It is interesting to note that the firm of Middleton & Co may have had their origins with Hamiltons.
It is also interesting that the European community on Prince of Wales Island, who numbered only thirty-five, could support two people in the trade.
