This is such a great site!
I'm hoping to get more familiar with the marks and am learning a lot. Have identified much of the silverplate, which will allow the heirs to complete the sets if they choose. Here's a pair of german 800 spoons I feel I should be able to identify but I can't recognize the third mark that isn't crescent nor crown. Hoping someone can help me.
best
Leslie

the image of the mark is to small - but it looks like a helm of a knight
(to make a foto of silvermarks - I use a loupe and the camera)
http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_4.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
like "Vereinigte Silberwarenfabriken Düsseldorf"

I will continue to perfect my photography technique. Here's a closeup with a loop, though I will try to get a better one. I can't see the helmet but it's stylized and I believe you if you say that's what it is! This particular piece has a monogram that doesn't match anyone we know about in the family, so we are interested to learn about the maker and try to figure out if it was part of the original family service.
