I would like to know what this fork may have been used for. as you can see it is fairly intricately engraved, the engravings are on both sides but one side is more worn that the other. It has no markings, is silver plate, some wearing to the tines. It has been suggested that it could be a pickle fork, a pickled egg fork, part of a serving kit for large roasts or even a hair piece and has also been suggested that it could be American or indeed of Celtic origin. So am a bit confused here, any help would be greatly appreciated
Length is 13cm or 5", width at the handle is 5cm or just under 2", weight 50 grams.
