Crowned EL silverplate mark

Post by dragonflywink »

Here is a mark that turns up quite a bit, on silverplate from various countries: Image

The trademark belonged to Eisenberg-Lozano of New York, NY, formed in 1953 by Arthur Eisenberg and Neal Lozano for use on imported flatware and holloware of silver and silverplate. The company, described as "an importer of silver plate, stainless and pewter holloware" was acquired by Kirk Corp. in 1970 and renamed as Kirk International in 1973.

Hi Cheryl,

I think that's the end of the longest running mystery we've had on the forum!

Just a lucky hit while searching for something else. Here's the subsequent "KI" Kirk International trademark used on "holloware made of silver plate":

Eisenberg-Lozano were noted as the U.S. distributors for the English flatware manufacturers, Arthur Price, of Birmingham, and B & J Sippel, of Sheffield, and also for the Italian holloware manufacturer, Giuliano Bossi, of Milan.
