His marriage to Mary Hore (born circa 1771) took place with her father Edward’s consent at St John, Wapping in 1789. The 1789 bond for the marriage recorded Henry as a goldsmith in Christchurch, Surrey. The church building was demolished in 1790; presumably this was merely coincidence.
Seven of their children born between 1802 and 1811 were christened at St Peter, Chertsey.
His son Edward Hore (born 1802) was made free by patrimony in the Goldsmiths Company in 1824.
The 1841 UK Census recorded Henry of independent means living with his wife Mary at Manor House, Newton Valence, Chertsey.
His wife Mary died there in 1848 aged 77 years.
He also died there in 1851.

The Will of Henry Chawner, late of Newton Valence, Hampshire, was proved for probate on 10th May 1851 (National Archives reference PROB 11/2132/77).

Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Henry Chawner, Rebecca Emes, and Edward Barnard, carrying on trade as Silversmiths, under the firm of Widow Emes and Barnard, at Paternoster-Row, and Amen-Corner, in the City of London, was dissolved on the 25th day of December last past by mutual consent: As witness our hands this 19th day of February 1829.
