A vesta case with an unknown maker WJM?

Post by Granmaa »

Here is a nice vesta case or match holder. It was assayed in Birmingham in 1918, but I'm not sure of the maker as the mark has been partly obliterated by the lid closing and opening. The top line reads WJM and the bottom says & and then a smudge.

That's probably the mark of W. J. Myatt & Co., Birmingham. In business roughly from 1902 through 1920.
