Been advised Sheffield silver - cannot verify

Been left a silver and enamel cigarette case. Jeweller confirmed silver and said Sheffield mark, no date. Thought I'd do further research, but having trawled through all Sheffield marks on this site I'm at a total loss!

Appears to have makers mark F.B.R. a circle / heart with horizontal and vertical line through, 925 and letter M

Hope someone can help! Many thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Well, it's not Sheffield, and there is a date.

Your case is struck with import marks used by the London Assay Office in 1927. The importer (sponsor), was F.B. Reynolds.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/importmarks.html

Trev.
