Please excuse my ignorance, but I know nothing about this topic. I am posting it on the Scottish Hallmarks forum only because one of the marks looks like a thistle. Can someone please point me in the correct direction to identifying the origin of the teaspoon that washed up onto my foot on a fairly remote beach in New South Wales (Australia) this morning (15th April 2014)? The images show that it is quite pock-marked, perhaps from spending many decades in the ocean (?) The only clue other than the markings is that it is surprisingly light, though quite sturdy.
