The traveling salesmen of & Simons, Bro. & Co., who have held their annual meeting, scattered throughout the country last week. Mr. Maddock started for the far south and southwest on his regular Spring campaign.

L. A. Dorrance, manager for Simons, Bro. & Co., returned Monday from Philadelphia, where he had been attending the annual meeting of the salesmen of the company.

PHILADELPHIA

The firm of Hoover & Smith Co., wholesale and retail jewelers for a half century, located in the Public Ledger building between 6th and 7th Sts., now is established in its handsome new home at 712 Chestnut St., where it has much larger quarters and adequate display room as well as more space for the wholesale and manufacturing departments. The new building is of white stone with a large display window on the street floor. Hoover & Smith is one of the oldest jewelry firms in town, having been established by Simmons Bros. more than 50 years ago. The present proprietors all were associated with Simmons Bros., Edgar A. Smith, the present president, having been with them for several years before their death. Charles I. Clegg, secretary and treasurer of the company, came to Simmons Bros. a short time after Mr. Smith and Frederick A. Brown, the vice-president, also was with the old firm. For 38 years Mr. Smith and Mr. Clegg have been associated, while Mr. Brown has been with them for 27 years. The firm was incorporated in 1906 under its present style.

NEW YORK

Roland S. Condit and William G. Rattey have formed a partnership under the name of Condit & Rattey, with offices in rooms 406-407, 9 Maiden Lane. The new concern will represent the following lines in the east. Frank Krementz Co., Newark; Simons Bros. Co., Philadelphia; William Link Co., Newark; Charles Ludwig, New York, and the Heiser Mfg. Co., Newark.

George W. Simons, of the Simons Bros. Co., Philadelphia, Pa., spent the entire past week in Chicago calling on the trade here. He returned home on Thursday evening and hopes to return to Chicago some time in December.

George W. Simons, of the Simons Bros. Co., Philadelphia, Pa., arrived in Chicago last week to spend some time here visiting the trade. Mr. Simons will leave for a business trip through the middle west and expects to again return to Chicago about May 1, before returning to the east.

George Simons, of the Simons Bros. Co., Philadelphia, spent several days of the past week in Chicago visiting at their Chicago office and with Hess & Hook, representatives. Mr. Simons is calling on his friends in the Middle West.
