Picked up a pin, about 3 inches diameter, shows balance scales, representing Libra, I presume, in abalone.

Marks on back listed from top to bottom

3 pointed crown, bottom half worn off, top have is 3 points, each cross or t shaped

Sterling
Mexico

Then a capitol L set up and to the left of a capitol C,overlapping, the C is blockish, like a 3 sided square, with the bottom right part of the L intersecting the C at its back midpoint, both are in an oval.

Any help on these marks would be greatly appreciated, I seem to remember a reference to an LC in a circle somewhere but can't find where I saw it.

Thank you 8)

Been researching on this and I finally think I found it.

I lucked out and bought 2 Mexican pieces yesterday, one is a Sombrero stamped with the unknown cojoined CA from the 925-1000 Mexican Marks list, but actually dated on it 1925, so that Mark should be changed to 20's instead of 30's now. The second piece was the one I needed though. It has the same crown on it as the pin did, Sterling, Mexico, BUT it has an Eagle Mark #58, which I was able to trace here -
This Antonio Pineda tie bar is a wonderful example of his quality, modernist artistry. It is concave with a central bezel-set, oval amethyst cabochon. It is marked "ANTONIO TAXCO" (in crown), "970" and co-stamped with Los Castillo Cooperativo marks: "LOS CASTILLO SOC COOP SCL" in a circle with "SEC 2" inside (this Coop mark is double-struck--see pictures) and eagle mark "58."
So, it appears that these 2 pieces are Antonio and Castillo Coop pieces, which would explain the LC on the pin and the crown, though it is not the usual Pineda crown, and the more distinct one I got on yesterdays piece shows it to be a 5 pointed crown. I also found another link with a list of Eagle Marks and their owners and it listed 58 as Antonio and Los Castillo.

Just some info if you also have an unid'ed crown, LC, or 58 mark on your piece 8)
