Makes mark identification help please.
Hello, I’m new to silver as of yesterday and was wondering if someone would assist me with the makers mark on this cigarette box? I found the box at a thrift store for $3.99 usd and found the original owner on ancestry.com who is now dead. Any idea who “JR” is?

JR is John Rose, manufacturing silversmith of Hockley Street, Birmingham, and V is the date code of the assay year 1945/46. Your box would benefit from a clean with a good quality silver polish.
