The Birmingham Assay Office has announced the launch of its Rainbow mark which is to be applied as an optional mark alongside the hallmark and date letter for 2020.

The special Rainbow mark is being struck to raise funds for the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic. The mark will be available for a limited period from the 1st July until December 2020. The mark will be applied with the date letter 'v'* in combination with a statutory hallmark.
The Rainbow mark depicts the iconic Rainbow symbol that has become synonymous during the current pandemic. The mark can be applied on gold, silver, platinum or palladium or on non-precious metal articles.
