just arrived claret jug - please take a look and tell if you could confirm a dresser design ?

Hi Tom,
The spout and neck match up nicely to a design of Dresser's produced ca.1880 by H&M. However, the glass body does not look like anything that Dresser would have designed. I think H&M might have incorporated part of an older pattern (to save time and money) to create this "new" piece that is more fitting to the taste of the early Edwardian era.

thanks tom ! you may be right... but what about the handle ? i don`t know !!
...and that is why i love collecting things - you can never be sure and so you look and look and talk and talk - fantasy is keeping us alive .... wish all a merry christmas and lot of joy !!!!

I have seen several different 'carafes' attached to tops designed by Dr C/D and suggest that what you have is a 'Dresser' styled top with an Art Nouveau base, the quality of which appears good enough to warrant a visit for appraisal to Sothebys or Christies...go for it.
