Hi Everyone! I just found this great Dutch silver folding combination spoon/fork/toothpick!

I love it but I have heard that there we fakes of these done in the mid-late 1800's.

Can anyone help with the marks on this one? Those are the only marks I find. The dolphin/fish is on there but I have heard that they did mark older pieces again with the new mark. The inscription reads J. Dykstra Anno 1718.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Kert, yes, you are 100% right these are fake marks. Fake duty/tax mark 1807, and fake town mark Rotterdam ( ?) Indeed love makes you blind, enjoy the feeling.

How old do you think it really is?

Could it be a 1718 fake of a 16th century spoon?
