This mug / flask is described in one of the galleries as made in Hanau
It weights over 1200 grams

Isn't it too good quality as for Hanau? I would be grateful if you could share your opinions with me.

Also, I can't think of any silver mark like that form hanau

A Büttenmann, a lot of them are made in Switzerland or attributed to Swiss silversmith. Most of them have the vessel, the Bütte, made of silver and the man is carved from wood. Or also the Bütte is wood only with some silver mounting, decoration. 17th century Büttenmänner are rare, 17th century Büttenmänner all in silver are VERY rare.
Most Büttenmänner are works of 19th century historism, sometimes with re-use of older parts, i.e. the Bütte may be older.
13 loth marks on Swiss silver started to appear in the 19th century.
I did not find a match for Swiss marks.
So mutch for the "facts".
Now to the "feelings":
I think the marks look 19th century. Hanau can be considered, they were perfectly able to produce quality silver items.
Not having a match for the marks also point towards Hanau, they used lots of marks.
But another place of manufacturing is possible. Let us see what other members think.

Wow, that's very interesting, thank you very much Joerg!
I didn't know about the Büttenmann figures!
I saw many good quality silver in Hanau but this one looks exceptionally good, it's why I leave a margin that it's Hanau.
Do you know anything about Baroque silver from Strasburg? maybe they used 13 loth silver, maybe it's where we should be looking for?
With best regards,
Lukasz
