Georgian Mote Spoon

Post by SimonJersey »

Good morning
Please could you advise if in your opinion this mote spoon is genuine and correct (and not just a modified teapoon)?
It is 12.8cm in length, marked with Lion passant and makers mark

If its is right, what sort of date would you put it at (and does the makers mark ring any bells)

(Concerns: The pierced bowl seems quite crudely done and is not symmetrical. Not seen a shell bowl mote spoon before. The lion passsant seems quite high up the handle. Is the length of spoon too short)

Best regards,
Simon
