Silver tobacoo box, silversmith?

Post by Vantlicht »

Allthough I did my best I do not recognize this hallmark. It looks like GR 2 or CR 2, but I cannot find any hit.

DK above 2 for; Cornelis van Dam Kooyman, he started on 8-3-1812 and died 3-6-1862.
Cornelis was baptized on 17-8-1783, parents Andries Graves Kooiman and Engelina van Dam. He became a citizen of Schoonhoven on 30-11-1793 and at the time he came from the village of Giesen Nieuwkerk .
In the guild period he was already registered in 1807 as a master. Maker's mark a man's head. However, this was only a formality because he worked as a silversmith's servant when he left Schoonhoven in 1808. In 1808 he went to the city of Tiel.  In 1812 he was back in Schoonhoven and was registered there as a silversmith. Maker of silver boxes, purse brackets, thimbles
