I hope you're doing well! I have two questions about this small dish.





As you can see, it features four silver hallmarks: the French Minerva mark, a lozenge maker’s mark, the 950/1000 Standard Mark of the Kingdom of Sardinia, and a hand with a pointing index finger (which I believe could be a city mark from the Kingdom of Sardinia).
My first question is: does anyone recognize the maker associated with the French lozenge mark?
Secondly, am I correct in thinking that this is originally a French dish that was imported into the Kingdom of Sardinia, hence the intriguing combination of hallmarks?

Yes, it is as you say. The pointing finger mark belongs to the Nice mint, which was part of the Savoy kingdom until 1859.
The Minerva was introduced in 1838.
Your dish can be dated within those dates.

Your dish was made in Paris by Callot sometime after 1838 and stamped with the Parisian version of the Minerva hallmark. (There is in fact a difference between the Minervas struck in Paris or the departments.)
Then, at some point before 1860 the dish made its way to Nice where it was brought to conformity with the addition of the Kingdom of Sardinia hallmarks. After 1860 Nice and Savoy were ceded to France and they resumed using French hallmarks.
