Hi all,
Not really sure where to start with these marks. Assuming the 12 mark is a standard mark for .750? Maker IF. Stylistically I would have assumed the spoon to be first half of the 19th century.
Thanks

Hi,
I could not be very specific regarding these marks, but :
- I think that you are right about the "12" mark : most probably fitness mark, that is 12 loths i-e 750/1000 silver.
That could suggest Germanic countries, Germanic states (before formation of Germany in 1870), Germany, or Austria-Hungary.
This is an interesting clue, since I think (not 100% sure) that 12 loths fitness is less common than 13 loths
- I would suggest the 2nd half of the 10th c. (ab. 1860-1900)

I disagree.
I think this type of marks are from Romania, not Germany or Austria/Hungary.
If anyone check the romanian online markets we can find a lot of similar ones, sometimes with younger official hallmarks.
But the age of the spoon can be the 2. half of the 19. century.
Best regards!
