Spoon Usage?

Post by Daddy1947 »

I have a recently acquired spoon. It is Blackinton Sterling. Replacements calls the pattern BLS7.
It is 5 3/8" long. It has some brite-cut at the edge of the bowl. The bowl looks as if it may have had gold gilt at one time.
I was thinking of infant feeding spoon or parfait spoon. But if it had the gold gilt more likely for some acidic condiment?
Looks a bit large for a mustard spoon but maybe a horseradish spoon?
I would appreciate input from anyone.

Hi,

Given the shape of the bowl and the fact it was gilded, then I would opt for it being an egg spoon.

Yes, I totally agree, it looks like an egg spoon.
Untreated silver goes black and can give an unpleasant taste when used to consume eggs.
