Bought this (British) Spoon last weekend on a dutch flea market. Very curious when it was made, the maker, city and period when it was made. (And what the hallmarks mean)

Hi,
That's a set of marks attributed to John Gilbert of Birmingham. They pre-date 1896 because following that date the use of a 'crown' device was outlawed for use on plated items.
