Russian Orthodox Pectoral Cross

Post by Fr_Matthew »

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and I am new to Russian silver. I have a Russian Orthodox Pectoral Cross that I would like help with. I have scoured over the website and I can't find anything definitive. I can see the fineness stamp of 84 which I understand. I cannot figure out the stamp next to it, which looks like a town stamp but I don't know for sure. The other stamp seems to be NP which might indicate Nicholls & Plinke, but this doesn't seem like something they would make? The loop connecting the Cross to the chain is also stamped NP, and the first link of the chain itself is stamped NP and 84. My main questions would be is it authentic? If so, who made it and roughly when? Thank you very much in advance.
