question about hallmark

Post by Cicik »

Good evening
I've been trying to solve the mystery of the hallmark on the fork for some time now. A friend suggested it might be a Dutch mark. I'm asking for some advice from this esteemed forum.
Best regards, CicikImage

Yes, indeed Dutch, town mark of Amsterdam, lion rampant, the provincial standard mark silver 934/1000. Year letter D. Unfortunately the maker's mark has disappeared or illegible. For more information see Amsterdam;

When I look at the crown of the Amsterdam city mark and the provincial mark, I believe the year letter D for 1738
