Hi,
I need your help:
I have found some "Augsburger Faden" Cutlery (measurer fork spoon)
they are marked with the Hamburg city mark "Tower" and their is the date letter "D" Or "E" , i´m not sure.
But the cutlery is 800er Silver!

Wich date does this mean?

The Makers Mark is "B&G". If you have further informations about the maker, it would be great.

Sincerly 8facher

Hello,

The maker's mark is for Brahmfeld & Gutruf - a gold- and silverware supplier in Hamburg, Germany, established in 1842 and still in existence (although I think they only do jewelry and watches these days). The company was founded by Johann Friedrich Brahmfeld. Johann Georg Gutruf joined soon after.

I'm not sure about the date letter, although "F" was apparently used from 1857, so your piece must be older than that.
