I Need help with markings on two ingots - British

I have two silver ingots. The first has L&N as the makers mark (does anyone know who this is?) An anchor and lion (I understand this to be Birmingham, is that right?) The letter "C" (does this denote 1977?) and the queens head (Elizabeth II) Is this a Jubilee ingot?

The second ingot has RC as the makers mark (does anyone know who this is?) A rose and lion (Is this Sheffield?, if not which city?) and the letter "C" again. Is this a jubilee ingot too?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thank you

PS Is there any way to find out the weight, I dont have small enough scales!! Thanks![/b]

Hi. You are correct on both counts. Your ingots do have the assay marks for Birmingham and sheffield and the yr is 1977 (it was to celebrate the Queens silver jubilee). The ingots usually weighed either 1oz or 1/2 oz.

I am also attempting to find out who the maker mark L&N belongs to.

Has anyone yet found out the answer to this question?
