Here is a cream jug with only two identifiable marks: the lion passant and IW.
I believe it was made 1800-1820. I also think, by the style of the lion, that it was made in Newcastle by John Walton, but I would appreciate the opinions of other members.
Hi Miles. The reference books I have show the mark of John Walton to have no bullet between the letters, whereas your mark looks as though it has a bullet. I've found a makers mark very similar to yours belonging to John Watson, resistered in Shefield in 1816. Is John Watson a more likely candidate?
