Help Identifying Marks and Function
Hello,
This is an enamel-decorated piece in 88 standard silver with a Cyrillic maker's mark. I believe it says Grachev with marks for St. Petersburg. Would this indicate the Grachev brothers or their father Gavriil Petrovich Grachev? I am also uncertain about the function of the object - possibly a ...

Russian silver cup confusing marks
Hello,
I am seeking information on a Russian silver cup with an assay master's mark and a Soviet-era mark of a hammer and sickle within a star. I have never seen a piece like this. Is this an older piece of silver that would have been re-assayed in the 20th century? (Please pardon my image of the ...

Hi,
I am inquiring to see if anyone is familiar with this hallmark.
I cannot seem to find a maker with such marks! It is fully marked: handarbeit / sterling / (crescent crown) / 925 / PC
Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Fake Mark??
Hello,
This silver tray bears marks by Gorham and retailer marks for Theodore B. Starr. I have been told that they are cleverly faked marks.
I just wonder if anyone has an opinion on if the marks do look to be fake? I am not an expert but to me they seem right.

Re: Help with marks on silver salt cellars
Good Morning,
I had one of the salt cellars tested by a local assayer using EDXRF. The report came back with the pieces testing as 87.04% AG or silver.
I wonder if they might by Hanau silver marks, however I remain confused!
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thank you again!

Re: Help with marks on silver salt cellars
Hello Peter,
Thank you for your speedy reply.
I wonder if you might be able to direct me as to where to look for this mark (or should I move this over to the silverplate section?).
With you advice, I searched about the animal skin mark and cannot find any references.
Would you have an idea of where ...

Large Sterling Urn Mark Identification
Hello,
I am seeking help to identify the maker/origin of this piece.
It had a tag in it saying that it was American, but I am unsure.
The mark is a lion rampant and 925.
Thank you for taking a look!
