Re: Possible Stolberg Wernigerode 12 Loth Spoon

Thank you both for your information and insight into the origin of my spoon.
Some pictures I could access and some sites said that the pictures "did not exist" but I still received some very relevant information about the spoon and the period of time from which it was made.
So thanks again!

Hammered Stamped & Plated Candlesticks 3 Feet No Marks

This is a pair of plated candlesticks. They are not marked. The metal looks to be hand hammered and hand etched or stamped and then plated. They have three cast feet. My best guess is that these are silver-plate over brass. A magnet will not stick to them and I can see places where they have joined ...

Re: Possible Stolberg Wernigerode 12 Loth Spoon

Thank you Theoderich for your quick reply and for the information.
I have the "Old Silver" book which shows a mark like the stag, elk mark but it states that this is from Stolberg-Wernigerode and from the 18th century.
I have no knowledge of the towns, cities or provenances that you speak of ...

It is marked on the bottom with what looks like sunray or crown and the letters PS (or PG?) and 700. I have looked everywhere and can't find this mark. Can anyone help me identify the origin, maker ...

Please help identify silver bowl OM BTON bird zipper marks

This is a 4 1/4" diameter hand made silver bowl. It is marked on the bottom with a double struck OM (or WO) then BTON then a bird (dove?). Above all of this is a long line of hand etched lines I call "zippers". I thought that maybe this might be Chinese export silver? But then someone told me that ...

Possible Stolberg Wernigerode 12 Loth Spoon

Please help me identify this spoon. This is an 8 1/2" long silver spoon. It is marked with the number 12, and an elk or stag and two curved lines. Does the #12 mean that this was made in Prussia or Germany in the 18th and 19th century and it is made of .750 silver. Does the elk represent the city of ...
