Best Regards,
Paul

Crown, Right Facing Lion, "Sterling" Hallmark (NOT
Hi Everyone!
Does anyone recognize this hallmark? I've had a look on this site & checked my books & can't find it. I suspect it's probably American or Canadian.

Thanks!

Ways of Testing Silver Content?
Hi!
Was wondering what methods I can use to test silver content on silver flatware. Sometimes I get the odd piece that is hard to tell if it's silver or not when the hallmarks are questionable (having a test that can id silver vs plate would be good). If there is a method of determining silver ...

Please help ID this Georgian Sterling Spoon Hallmark?
Hi again!
Posted too soon. Found another one!
http://www.mapleridgeauction.com/images/2008-02/sterlingflatware15c.jpg
Again, no city mark!
This one has Lion Passant, "R" (Date?), King George III Bust Duty Mark, & Maker Mark (first letter too faint) "*G" over "EW".
Thanks!
Paul

Hi Niles & Nigel! Thanks. My initial thoughts were that it was Thomas Dicks as well. Yes, the two hallmarks are slightly different. The one hallmark (no dot) is on the bottom of the cruet holder. There is also as "TD" on the handle. The "T.D" is on the spoon, that is part of the set (although it may ...
