Re: Covered Bowl Help w/Marks
Rebecca,
It reads "alkhaledi abdulmalik" as the maker. The second line reads pure silver but there is no mention of the purity or any number to i indicate that. I am not familiar with work of Morocco but I'd expect a numbered hallmarked. Why dont you have it tested though?

Re: Persian silver marks
Oel, the person I spoke with, unfortunately, could not tell who would be the one that signed " Parvaresh" as there are number of other silversmiths from that family. However, since I got some pieces that are signed by "Parvaresh" only, I'd like to investigate more. I am going to try to get hold of ...

Re: Persian bowl? Help to idenify.
I never heard of a silversmith named Ferdows ( and unlikely to find anyone with that name ) That is why I kinda believe that it should refer to the name of the retailer. However, Ferdowsi is known asa highly revered Persian poet and the author of the epic of Shahnameh - the Persian "Book of Kings ...

Re: Need help with hallmark
it is written "silver" not sure about what it refers to the word after 1. I also think I am reading Masri on top which if correct, means from Egypt!

Re: Asian Silver Vase
Sorry, no! The only way is to obtain some information about the specific silversmith and make a guess! Unfortunately, most of the Persian silvers are sold by retailers and there is a little or no information about the makers!

Re: Help to tea set.
Interestingly, the first word from the left reads" parvaresh" then 84 and after that " Qazadian" and finally " Vartan"
I have seen few pieces with "Vartan" mark that also has the Parvaresh ( famous Isfahani Silversmith" name. While there is a Persian-Armenian silversmith from North West of Iran ...

The first word is illegible the second word is not Zadavi but it is Ferdowsi which makes me think that is the name of the seller rather than the silversmith himself. My guess is the first word is the name of the silver smith!

One is fanning him, one appears to be holding bowl of water, another is appears to be doing something to him with his hands. Next to him is a small table with bowls and ...
