Can anyone help me with this spoon?

This spoon is 9" long.

I have seen other similar pieces of silver from the same period with Gordon Co. Baltimore on them.

Wondering if that was the retailer? Could not find a Gordon Silversmith that sounded correct.

Another Mystery I.D.

Can any sharp eyed reader identify this company?
I have gone through several reference books AND websites to no avail.
It is an 8 1/2 to 9 inch table serving spoon.
Says M.B.CO. STERLING
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Help with Silver I.D.?

I just acquired this gorgeous Fish(?) Server. It is marked STERLING but no Hallmark.
I wondered if any sharp eyed Silver Expert might be willing to hazard a guess as to its origin?
I ran it though Replacements I.D. app and the closest they came was Gorham Cottage, but that is not it.
Thanks in ...

Help with Hallmark?

This pastry fork identifies as Mt. Vernon - George Washington but the hallmark does not match.
I know Mt. Vernon absorbed Mauser and I thought that might be it but does not match the ones on this site.
I have seen it before but can't remember. Anyone able to help? Thank you.

Re: Is this Sheffield?

Thank you!

The crown and lion fooled me into thinking it was British.

Is this Sheffield?

Can someone tell me whether or not this is Sheffield.

It has a crown and a lion but there is a letter in the middle instead of the end?

Spoon Usage?

I have a recently acquired spoon. It is Blackinton Sterling. Replacements calls the pattern BLS7.
It is 5 3/8" long. It has some brite-cut at the edge of the bowl. The bowl looks as if it may have had gold gilt at one time.
I was thinking of infant feeding spoon or parfait spoon. But if it had the ...

Schulz & Fisher "FARALONE" Soup Ladle

I just acquired a magnificent soup ladle by Schulz & Fisher in their "FARALONE" pattern. It is 13 1/4" in length.
Obviously I am not asking for identification but do have a question.
I wondered about the name Faralone and its origin. So I looked up the word and found that there are islands
just off ...

Mystery Hallmark

I am hoping some sharp eyed reader can identify this hallmark for me.
It is on a piece of hollowware. It says STERLING so I assume it is American.

Re: Black Starr & Frost Strange Hallmark

WOW! You are a fountain of information. Thank you so much.
I woke up in the middle of the night after posting and it hit me
that Black Starr & Frost were likely the vendors and some other
company was the manufacturer.

P.S. Thanks also for the referral to that hallmark site which I
had never ...

Black Starr & Frost Strange Hallmark

I have a gravy boat marked Black Starr & Frost. It says nothing about Gorham.

It has a hallmark that is different from any BS & T hallmarks that I have found in reference books.

Can anyone tell me more about the hallmark? Thank you!

Re: Another Hallmark Mystery to me

Hi Peter:

That sounds like a very good suggestion.
It is a very old spoon and I see absolutely no wear through of plate in the typical areas.
Thank you!

Jim
