Re: Dating N for Nurnberg on Taste in or sweat meat dish

It might still me 19th century, but I hope someone recognizes the exact same "N" on another piece wich has a known date.
Both Tardy and Rosenberg seem to show this specific "N" but ofcourse there are a lot of mistakes in these.

Re: Dating N for Nurnberg on Taste in or sweat meat dish

Hello, thank you for your comments.

I am familiar with Hanau silverware and marks, but could not find any marks similar to those on this dish.

The photos I posted earlier may not do it justice. It is certainly not a cast or stamped decoration. The decorations are all manually driven and cisselled ...

Re: Italian Candlestick from Bologna 18th century - or not?

Thanks Amena and peter for your replies.
The reference to the town of Dulken helped me a lot.

I do not have acces to the mentioned book but with some luck and help from google i managed to find a page from Scheffler's "Goldschmiede Reinland-Westfalen band I"

Italian Candlestick from Bologna 18th century - or not?

Hello,

This candlestick looks to be a mid 18th century candlestick. The hallmarks are not easy to read for me. One of the marks
looks like a 18th century mark for Bologne - Italy in my old Tardy`s but cant find that standing lion anywhere else.
So might not be Italian at all.

Re: 18th century Dusseldorf help needed datemark & maker

Many thanks for your reply. It`s nice to put a name to it.
Online I found some other items from Johann Schleuter with a B for 1708/1709 in a similar cartouche/outline.
So I guess C would be 1709/1710. For now, case closed.

Hallo,

Today my latest purchase arrived in the mail :), it was a lucky buy on an online Dutch marketplace. It seems to be an early 18th century candlestick from Dusseldorf. Unfortunately I can`t identify the datemark and makersmark as i don`t have literature on Dusseldorf hallmarks.
Could anyone ...

Re: Need help identifying AUGSBURG makersmark

Hello Theodorich,

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me in which publication you found these hallmarks?
If from Johann Bartermann I (1693-1732) a citymark from 1792-97 seems odd. Do you have an explanation for that?

regards,

Michiel
