Not quite sure about where this one came from. Has the several marks as you can see in the photos. The mark 178 looks like it may have had a 0 or something else on the end of it. I could sure use your help.
Picked up an 8 piece set of these spoons. They look like souvenir spoons that have been marked "800" and what looks to be "M.V.B"? This was the clearest markings of the group.
No identification marks, just "STERLING". It's 4-7/8"(2-1/2" blade). Anyone recognize a pattern? Probably a long shot. Either way, it's a neat little piece and I like to show it off.
As you can see in the pictures it is just an "A". I've looked through the standard markings as well as initial markings and can't find a thing. Has anyone run across this maker before?
...the maker "HOTEL"? Or if this is even silver. I've never heard of 86.0 Silver but there's probably alot that I've never heard of. This is on a large serving platter for a ship called the M.S. Nieuw Amsterdam.
