Unknown mark Canadian Plate

I have a silver plated rose/flower dish, presumably meant to hold a glass frog. It has a wide flange and is adorned with single grape clusters, slits, and an embossed leave decoration around the center cup.

The marks on the bottom are as follows
"Old English Reproduction" in a three-part banner
"B.P" in an old English font
a picture of a oil lamp (genie lamp)
"E.P. on copper" (electroplate on copper)
"LEAD MOUNTS" (part of the plating process I assume)
"MADE IN CANADA"
"2514"

I have been unable to place the mark.

Any leads would be great. It is a gift and it would be nice to be able to tell my grandfather where it came from and who made it. Even though a repro, it would be nice to know the history.

Thanks,
Hestia

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

The maker is Benedict-Proctor Mfg. Co. of Trenton, Ontario, Canada. They were a branch of the Benedict Manufacturing Co. of East Syracuse, New York.

According to Rainwater's this branch was established c.1910 and in business until c.1970.
