I bought this kettle on tripod stand at a general sale yesterday, I hadn't spotted it as it was behind a big ugly reproduction coal scuttle, but my wife saw it and I bid without seeing it closely because she liked it so much! It has a few dents but is beautifully made. As I was collecting it a dealer asked if he could have a look and said he would be happy to buy it there and then, and that he hadn't noticed it or he would have been bidding for sure. He also suggested looking into it further as he thought it might be by Christopher Dresser.
I have tried to look up the marks on the base but they are a bit faded and I haven't had any luck. I assume it is silver plate, and Victorian, but beyond that I don't know?
If anyone can let me know what the marks mean, and if they think it is by Christopher Dresser i would greatly appreciate it :)
