Thanks.
I got some other pieces in this lot marked E.P.N.S. Ware from India, and R.W. Quadruple from N.Y., which gave me no clues as to where to start on these two pieces.
I just bought a pot that says the marks are CGH alp x, which I'm sure is the same maker.
I can't wait to see if the mark is more decernable than the creamer/sugar I have. I doubt it though.
Patrick is correct, the "C.G.H." is the maker's mark for the Swedish company C.G. Hallbergs Guldsmeds AB. The next marks are "IMA" with the "MA" underlined, believe that is some sort of abbreviation of "PRIMA", an indication of the quality of plating, according to one source, Prima = at least 20 gram plating, Extra Prima = at least 40 g, with "60" added to more heavily plated items. The last letters are "ALP." for Alpacca (nickel silver), which is a silver colored alloy containing various quantities of copper, zinc and nickel (common formula would be 64% copper, 24% zinc, 12% nickel). Believe these marks started being used in the mid-20th century.
