Silver Rimed American Brilliant Cut Glass Bowl

Post by mhgcgolfclub »

Any help on the silver marks on the silver rimed bowl please, Ihope this may be the right forum for this item, I live in the UK but collect ABP glass , although when items are unmarked its not always possible to be sure if the item was made in the USA or the possibility of it being European, I believe this may well be American and the the silver rim may also be the USA, so any help on the ID of the silver marks may help me conclude as to the origin of the bowl, the bowl measures 8.5" in diameter and weighs 2kgs

many thanks for any help

Hello.
Not sure, but the overall shape of the middle mark reminds me of a WMF mark.

Hi Pat

Thanks that may be a possibility, although I have seen many WMF items and they have mostly been easy to read, even if the glass was made in the USA or Europe the silver rim could have been made in a different location , thanks for your input, I will see if I have any further reply's
