Sterling cuff bracelet with trees or mountains Sterling mark

Post by pattyr »

Hello. I found this unusual bracelet at an estate sale this weekend and cannot figure out its maker -- or its age or design -- it looks like some sort of hieroglyphics or symbol language as it isn't really a balanced pattern. I think it is American, but the original owners were world travelers, so I can't be sure.

I checked both the pictorial marks and the Ws with no luck.

Any help you can give is appreciated -- and thanks for providing such an excellent resource.

Hi there, I don't have any information about the maker's mark, but the bracelet is an old Campfire Girls piece. The mark has had me stymied for a while now.

I was once told by an ex-CFG that the W stands for Wohelo

"The Camp Fire Girls' watchword is "WoHeLo," a word created from the first two letters of the words "work, health, love.""

Apparently, the bracelet would have been earned for Fire Making abilities.

Wow -- thanks so much for the info -- I never would have found that! Much better than by old sash full of Girl Scout badges!
