Sterling Silver Compact Unknown Hallmark American?

I have a lovely enameled sterling silver compact with hallmarks I have been unable to identify in my two books and on this forum.
It is marked sterling then a crown what appears to be letters and then an animal? maybe a fox then the nbrs 3571 and a letter s .
Any help in identifying this hallmark would be greatly appreciated.
