Can't figure out the mark

can someone tell me what all these marks mean

they are stamped boxes on the back of a spoon bought in europe,

A JD & S EP ( a sort of umbrella)

AJD&S is the makers initials but don't know who it is and EP stands for Electro-plate so it is silver plated. Best wishes, Mike.

"A" is almost certainly the suposed quality of the plating.

Could your umbrella mark in fact be a trumpet or bugle?

If so, it is probably James Dixon & Son of Sheffield. The company existed from the 19th century to at least the 1970s.
