three pocket watches

Hello
I found couple of pocket watches that belonged to my grandfather who was a watchmaker.
The first one has a London hallmark I think but I can't figure the date.

Welcome to the forum.

Looks like the case was made by ( P:W ) Phillip Woodman (Benjamin, Woodman & Sons).
Entered this mark on March 9, 1872.
The date mark D is for 1879.
Watch cases were exempt fron duty.

You're welcome.

On larger silver pieces of this time period there was an additional mark, a duty mark.

I looked again at that watch and saw what I thought belong to another watch:
the letters L W is this a name of a maker?

All silver had duty mark at the time (Queen Victoria in profile), considered luxury items. Watch cases were exempted.
