Peter Behrens???

Post by Silbersammler »

Good day, I need some help: I bought a cutlery and can not assign the pattern. It looks similar as art nouveau cutleries of Peter Behrens, exactly the same sample could I however not find. Does someone know the sample? It is marked with 800 crescent crown. Thank you for each assistance.

Kind regards

Hello, just the blade is from Germany, the rest is not. Pallas, the other mark on the blade, is that of Belgian manufacturer De Smet. The pattern was most likely designed around 1970, give or take a couple of years. So this is far from being a Behrens design. Best wishes, Bahner

Thanks a lot, Bahner,
I have looked in my book "Bestecke des Jugendstils" and two of the cutlery`s of Behrens looked a bit like this one, so I had some hope :-)
Kind regards
Steffen
