Can't seem to identify this piece

Ok well my mother bought this piece and im the only in the family that knows how to use the web.

ok well the best way to describe this piece its a platter and how a leaf desgin made into the center part of it.

the marks as follows

a logo that looks similar to the marines one.
EPNS on the next line the e and p are in surronded by shields and the NS have circles around it.
next line has reed and barton on it
then this line has the numbers 0010002
next has the numbers 18
and the next line is X


Please help i have no clue about this and i did take a look at your libary here and that didnt help any.

The winged globe mark you describe was a silverplate mark used by Reed & Barton, Taunton, Massachusetts. The letters EP mean Electroplated and the letters NS refer to the base metal under the silverplate - nickel silver.

On holloware made between 1928 and 1957 they put a date mark on the pieces, see chart:

If your piece doesn't have a date mark chances are it was made after 1957.
