Hi Pat,
Thanks for the link. Of the three examples, this one, to me, seems the most efficient.

What-is-it-Question CLXXV
Re: What-is-it-Question CLXXV
Hello all,
When searching for a purpose for the object there were the usual pauses for thought taken up in filling and lighting my pipe. Oh! for more lateral thinking. There in front of me on the screen was a gizmo to do it all for me. Filling the pipe that is.
Now however I ask myself whether the gizmo is practical. There's a one size measure to fit all sizes of pipe bowl; there's the manual dexterity to get the cartridge into the filling slot; there's a requirement for laser vision to line all up to get the cartridge into the bowl; and last but not least there's the joy of looking forward to a burning paper cartridge spoiling the flavour.
I'll give this one a miss I think and meanwhile have another pause for thought.
Regards,
Mike

Yeh, the burning paper cartridge (and glue) can't be good.
Would not work for me with all the different sizes of pipes, Always prefered the Danish style.
This must fall into that novelty gift item category, something a pipe smoker would not buy for himself.

Pat.
